This morning saw the official presentation of the MVP results for the Spot4Dis project, with the participation of representatives from the five involved municipalities: Valencia City Council, Zaragoza City Council, Badajoz City Council, Genoa City Council (Comune di Genova), and A Coruña City Council, as well as the technical collaboration of inLab FIB from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, represented by Ernest Teniente, Director of inLab FIB and team leader for the mapping part of the project.
The event was led by Benjamí Solé Erill, AsoPMR board member and PM/PMO lead for Spot4Dis web/app development. It also featured an institutional address by Miguel Escassi, Director of Public Affairs and Government at Google Spain, within the framework of the European program Google.org Impact Challenge: Tech for Social Good.
During the session, technical advancements in the identification and validation of PRM parking spaces using artificial intelligence were shared, both through satellite imagery and street-level captures. The most recent developments of the Spot4Dis website and app were also presented, aimed at improving the experience for people with reduced mobility in urban environments.
Upcoming milestones include the presentation of the complete pilot results for the five cities by early January 2026, and a functional beta version by the end of the same month.
AsoPMR expresses its gratitude for the involvement of all participating agents. “We are confident that this initiative will consolidate into long-term projects. Our goal is for these five cities to act as a spearhead for expansion to other municipalities and as a basis for even more ambitious proposals. We continue to work towards the #WiseHumanCities of the future,” the organization stated.
